HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED THERAPY?
People dont come to therapy because they have problems - everyone has problems. People come to therapy because they identify a challenge and want to make authentic changes to better their experience of life. Sometimes individuals see the same issues resurface over and over in differnt forms in their lives and they're unsure why. In everyday life these problems are addressed superficially without delaing with their roots, which is why they may continue despite our best efforts.
In therapy problematic patterns are explored in depth in order to addres teh underlying casues and thus begin to change the driving forces beneath them. In other words, therapy goes beyond the symptoms and targets the actual issues at hand. We use a unique combination of several research proben theories, tailored to each individual, which together can help you transform your life.

do you work with my insurance?
Our practice understands that insurance can be a large consideration for many of our clients. Because of this we aim to make the process as seamless as possible. Like most private practice's, Manhattan Wellness Associates, accepts all insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. We provide invoices that are easy to read and complete in order to make your reimbursement process simpler. In our experience, most clients with out of network benefits receive between 50% - 80% of the cost of their sessions, after the deductible is met.
What is the average turnaround time for claims processing and/or payment?
Typically, insurance companies are able to send payment within 30 days of receiving your claim form.
Who is responsible for submitting claims to get reimbursement?

What is required on a claim form for the claim to be processed?
Clients name, date of birth, member ID number, procedure code, provider name/credentials, provider address, provider TAX ID number, date of service, diagnosis code, & charge for service.
What terms might I need to know in order to submit for session reimbursement?
Procedure Code – This code corresponds with the type of service that was done ( 90791 intake, 90834 45-minute therapy session) Diagnosis Code – The reason for treatment, usually listed as a numeric code with a decimal point (can be found on your superbill - example F33.1) Provider Tax ID # - The provider’s federal ID number, necessary for the processing of all claims. Manhattan Wellness Associates Tax ID: 823088844 Date of Service – Date of the appointment/visit Deductible – Means the amount of money a person must pay out of pocket before their coverage (co-insurance) begins to apply Co-Insurance – Means the amount of money a person receiving services must pay out of pocket towards care that’s eligible for benefit. Typically, this is a percentage of the overall charge – this amount is based on the terms of the benefit plan.

We highly recommend a company called Better
Better is an app for filing out-of-network health insurance claims. Send them a photo of your claim and they will handle the rest, including determining your eligibility and following-up with your health insurance company.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
Individual sessions are held for 45 minutes.
HOW OFTEN ARE SESSIONS?
Typically, at the beginning of treatment it is recomended that you meet with your therapist at least once weekly.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Payment is due in full at the time of session. Our office will provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
